Comments on Abbreviated URLs are problematic in text clients

Colour coding links is something the client should do, I think. In my case, for example, I'm treating links to images (guessing using filename extensions) and Twitter differently from other links. I don't want to build this kind of thing in C.

As you can see, Bitlbee Mastodon is printing exactly the content property of the status. It already comes with the URL truncated. The complete link is in the card property, but that's not what Bitlbee Mastodon is showing. The web client, however, displays both.

In short, the plugin cannot fix that problem without a bigger effort: picking the URL from the card element and trying to replace any possibly trucated URLs in the content. So I fear I'm not going to fix it.
