Pull Requests

Without a central website to handle patches for us in the background, we need to figure out how to use email and git directly. See Contributing to a Project in the Git book online, in the section "Forked Public Project".

Here's how I imagine it would work if your fork is on a public git repository:

  1. you clone the repository
  2. you create a new branch and make your changes
  3. you create a pull request using git request-pull and mail the output to alex@gnu.org

And if you're on a private git repository:

  1. you clone the repository
  2. you create a new branch and make your changes
  3. you create a patch using git format-patch and mail the output to alex@gnu.org
