I was updating the FreeBSD Port of bitlbee-mastodon and while testing I noticed, that it still identifies itself as 1.4.0 after the update.

Gah, you are right. I didn't follow my own procedures in Sorry about that. The necessary changes are in the master branch, now.

Would you like me to tag it or 1.4.1-1 or not at all? This is the first time I find myself in the "upstream" position.

To be honest, I am not sure myself. I would probably tag 1.4.2 and document the missing adaption of the version number and the missing entries in the CHANGES file as fixed bugs.
