2025-05-17 Šibenik
Today we explored Šibenik. We bought the ticket for three fortresses and used that as an excuse to walk all over town.
Claudia took most of the urban pictures; I took most of the flower pictures. 😅
We started by walking into a market.

We saw a huge moss covered rock. I like such living rocks. Too bad we didn’t think of identifying the mosses! 😂

The old town is full of narrow alleys and a ton of stairs.

We looked at the cathedral but we were unwilling to pay 7€ per person. The faces on the outside looked very modern to me. The lion looking hungrily at them looked modern as well.

From the fortresses, we enjoyed a nice view.

Some sort of cemetery lies within one of the forts!

Looking from the first fortress (St. Michael) to the next hill with another fortress (St. John). As it turns out, we got lost on the way and had to go to the Barone fortress, first. We felt like attackers being led astray.

Looking back at the first fortress, and the Šibenik bay, the islands beyond, and the narrow passage leading past the fourth fort (St. Nicholas, which we didn’t visit) to the sea.
