2019-08-08 Being Swiss

@hisham_hm recently asked: what makes you feel like a person from your country? I said:

When the public infrastructure works as it should, trains run on time, traffic is routed around construction sites without traffic jams, no long queues anywhere, the streets are clean, the roads are well paved, when I hear all four national languages spoken and all are understood, when I see no beggars and no squalor, I nod to myself and think, this is Switzerland. This is as it should be. This is why I am still here.

I do hope halberds are also involved, somehow.

Haha! Yeah, when I see halberds, I think of the Swiss, it’s true!
